Hi Everyone! Hoping that someone might be able to help me, I'm starting to get desperate here... I've been trying to figure out how to remove this pin from the hydraulic steering ram so that I can re-kit the seals on the ram for weeks and nothing has worked. Tractor is a Henan Basun Chinese tractor, imported myself to Australia. Has been a fantastic machine and servicing myself has been a no-brainer...until this one pesky little s\*#t of a pin... As seen in the pics, theres a small bolt to unscrew at the top which has been done but doesn't allow free movement of pin. Tried hammering with a driver from underneath but won't budge upward. Tried heating it with butane torch, won't budge. There's no c-clip or anything to be found. Tried turning pin to unscrew and just keeps turning inside spacer etc, tried removing grease nipple....nothing. I do notice that from underneath (see pic) theres a couple mil of space inside the pin before the solid bottom and there's a small pin hole, almost like a tool needs to be inserted to pop or click a locking mechanism open. Tried it, doesn't work. Tried jacking the whole front end of the tractor up, won't budge. Short of setting fire to the whole tractor, I'm not sure what to do. Never seen a pin like this and never seen one that won't come out. Both on either side are the same - won't budge. Pins definitely come up as there's no way for them to go downward. Any help would be greatly appreciated please!!!! https://reddit.com/link/1gsapm2/video/usclfwo2f51e1/player
tl;dr need help diagnosing a starting/ignition issue with my 80s era Lawn Chief riding mower. https://preview.redd.it/72h7snp37flf1.jpg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=89f3a7d3666d1059716382148b58976b26d01211 * bought a used lawn chief - my dad has this tractor when i was younger and i used to cut the grass with it all the time, so i when i saw this for i had to get it * can't start the tractor with the ignition switch, and lights don't work * battery is fine - it's new, fuse is fine * doesn't have the seat safety switch anymore - wiring is gone * tractor starts and runs fine if i jumper the starter solenoid - using a screwdriver i jumper from terminal 1 to terminal 2 - starts right up, runs just fine * i have 12V from the battery to terminal 1 of the starter solenoid * I have 12v from terminal 1 of the starter solenoid to the ammeter, but i wasn't seeing 12V out from the ammeter - so i bypassed the ammeter thinking it was trash * I then saw 12V at the ignition switch at the B terminal, but nothing on the S terminal when i turn the ignition switch to on and start * I bought a new ignition switch and hooked it up and it didn't work, but then realized I got the wrong switch (the connector connected just fine, but i looked at the terminals and realized that B and S were not in the same area as the other switch) * I put the old ignition switch back in. I then jumpered the brake switch and then also (the blade safety switch to effectively bypass them. I wanted to see if maybe one of these switches was bad, and i figured bypassing them would take them out of the circuit. i re-checked the voltage out from the ignition switch - still nothing I have ordered a new ammeter and a new ignition switch, and also a new connector for the ignition switch. I'm hoping once i replace all of those it'll work, i'm not sure what else it could be. I'm not sure if i'm totally missing something or going in the right direction - looking for some advice or anyone to double check ...
At my last home I had 5 barn cats (and 4 indoors). The barn cats fixed my mouse problem. I fed those [adorable fuzzballs](https://i.imgur.com/IbwFIya.jpg) enough dry food daily to keep 1 adult, maybe 1.5, well fed. This meant they *had* to hunt. They did. My mouse problem went away. The cats were fat and happy. Right now I am on a smaller property. I have mice getting into my garage and occasionally my house. It's not really a *problem* but they reproduce fast and it may become a problem. I have Victor snap traps out (baited with peanut butter which they seem to be licking off without setting off the trap!) and a bucket mouse trap in the garage. I've gotten 2-3 with each system but now it seems my Victors get licked clean without going off and the same for the bucket trap. The bucket trap doesn't get "licked clean" but once it gets dangerous they have apparently learned to stop. So I was thinking poison tonight. And I hate it. My neighbor has 5-6 stray cats he took in and looks after and I don't want to hurt them. He likely feeds them well and they are not interested in hunting. Is there a poison I can use without risking my neighbors cats? The idea of a mouse in my garage eating some poison and then killing one his strays bothers me. Is there a poison that won't do that? Thanks for any help you can provide! If it's "don't use any poison" I'm cool with that. My neighbors fuzzballs chill on my deck. I don't want to hurt them. Edit: Thanks for the suggestions everyone. The mice aren't really getting into my house. I think I had one in here once. It's the garage where they are a problem. I'm going to try some cheese, reeses cups, seed etc tomorrow. Thanks for the suggestions everyone!
I have a used 4310 I got at auction, use it a month out of the year to make some fire breaks with a 185FLAIL attachment. This year I have noticed it keeps stalling under load, and mild at that. I’ll be running up a hill or even on a slight slope in A range 2nd gear and it will still stall out when the PTO is on. So I figured maybe fuel delivery issue so I swapped the filter out and that definitely looked bad but I’m still having the same issue. Air filter looks fine I’m not sure if anyone here can offer some guidance
My b275 sat for a number of years I replaced battery fuel filter and fuel hoses fired up and ran fine for days found a couple hydraulic leaks but that’s it other but for the past week it has sat and ran fine 15+ min but once I move it it’ll run for 5 min then die then it will not fire what so every turns over fine but will not hit let it sit a day can get it to run same problem tho it will sit in run for how ever long you wait but the second it moves you got 5 min before it dies and will not hit clean lines bled them can’t figure this out a lot of rust sludge in bottom of fuel filter housing cleaned everything I could got it to run does it still any advice please and also any chance to point me in the right place to get these seals
