Known Issues
Hey all! I know I’m getting ready to start a fire storm for brand loyalties but here we go!! My family owns right around 130 acres in southern Kansas. The land is primarily flat with large (to me) soybean fields, a few roads, a decent amount of woods and some grass land as well as a couple ponds. We contract out the field work so that’s a non issue. We are looking for a tractor to do loader work, land clearing and pulling a batwing mower along the grassy areas a couple times per year. And the occasional blade on a gravel road. I was looking primarily at older model tractors with somewhere around 70-80hp so if we wanted to plant food plots or start baling etc we have the power. The JD 2630 or 3020gas kind of caught my eye. Because them having decent power while not being horribly heavy. I have an 18’ trailer with tandem axles. That weighs around 2000lb so I can handle a weight of around 8000 to 9000 lbs with my truck comfortably. I would personally prefer a gas motor due to not needing to have an extra fuel type and cold starts but I’m by no reason an expert. Thanks all! Edit: happy Easter
Running into an issue with a John Deere 2630 LH pinion cover and differential locking collar. Part #51500 (cover) says it fits said tractor at some parts sites but not at others. I bought it and it most definitely does not fit the locking collar #55777. Locking collar says “old style”, so I guess maybe there’s a new style but I can’t find the part #. Maybe there’s an old JD mechanic on Reddit that can enlighten me. Thanks in advance 😎👍
