This recall involves 1023E, 1025R and 2025R Compact Utility Tractors with the model number and "John Deere" printed on the hood. The recalled tractors are green and yellow, and were sold with both opened and closed operator stations. The serial numbers of tractors included in this recall can be found at www.deere.com. The serial number is located on the frame, on the front right side of the tractor, near the engine.

User reports that their 1979 JD 214 is missing an outer pulley on the PTO system. Additionally, the PTO stays running even when the lever is turned off.

I was gifted this 214, needed a new battery, carb cleaning, oil change, and then eventually I tuned the carb and it fired up and ran well for a bit, but after about an hour or so it shuts off (I think it's overheating). After I let it cool for a bit I can start it again, and after it shuts down 2 or 3 times it won't start again until I replace the coil. I'm on my third coil, and would like to get the root of the problem. Gas flows well, but maybe I need a new carburetor? It did sit for a few years with the previous owner. I'm not a mechanic, but I'm handy and good at googling, but that hasn't let me to the answer this time. Any ideas?
