Safety Recalls
This recall involves 1023E, 1025R and 2025R Compact Utility Tractors with the model number and "John Deere" printed on the hood. The recalled tractors are green and yellow, and were sold with both opened and closed operator stations. The serial numbers of tractors included in this recall can be found at www.deere.com. Click on "Parts & Service" and scroll to "Recall" or go to www.deere.com/en/parts-and-service/recall-information/. The serial number is located on the frame, on the front right side of the tractor, near the engine.
Known Issues
October 2024 recall notice: 1025R tractor (2018) front brake bell crank defect. Told 'stop using immediately.' Four-plus months later, no repair due to parts shortage. Consumer paid for grass/snow services.
Engine randomly dies when PTO is engaged while operating a mid-mount mower. Engine restarts immediately but continues to die intermittently when PTO is engaged. After approximately 5 minutes, engine continues to operate for 10-15 minutes before issue recurs. Issue persists after replacing PTO dash switch and testing solenoid.
1025R under recall/stop-use order since September. Offered 3-month payment delay; demanded forgiveness or buyback. Repair estimate 4-6 months.
Customer received recall notice from Deere regarding 1025R tractor. Customer contacted company multiple times, receiving little/no response. Advised not to use tractor due to brake issue. Tractor sitting 11+ months. Customer experienced multiple costs and manual labor due to untimely repair part issuance.
